I’ve tried the tcl linkport ik511redcap USB 5G dongle (running openwrt) on the halowlink1 and it seems to not be supported.
Will it the halowlink2 support usb cellular connectivity?

How are you connecting that dongle? The USB-C port isn’t a USB host but rather a client device acting as an Ethernet port. This is a hardware design so isn’t software configurable.
Unfortunately the HaLowLink2 won’t support USB devices either.

If your LTE dongle is just a router (as it sounds like), you should have no issues and we have support for this in our default configurations. If it’s not a router, but instead needs the LTE connection configured by the host, then as long as it’s supported by normal OpenWrt 23 you should be able to make it work.
