I’m not a teckie, but I want to purchase the WIFI HALOW product. I live in Tucson AZ in the mountains and my current Verizon 5G gateway and extenders do not enable me to reach my exterior cameras and water meeter monitor. My question: Is the HALOW product compatible with the Verizon 5G gateway. It has two phone jack type outlets marked LAN1 and LAN2. Or can it connect wireless? Thanks
If you’re referring to the Morse Micro HaLowLink1 then yes you should be able to attach it to your LAN ports on the back of your gateway to extend the network with HaLow!
There are also wireless options for extension.
Can you clarify extension? Is the HalowLink1 capable of being a extender (to mesh multiple HalowLink1). Router<-> HalowLink1 ↔ HalowLink1<->Client devices. Does it disabled the 2.4GHz AP s?
‘Extender’ is a role describing HaLowLink 1 devices which are connected to a HaLowLink 1 Access Point. You described the general topology correctly:
Router ↔ HalowLink 1 (Access Point) ↔ HalowLink 1 (Extender) ↔ Client devices
Regarding meshing, the HaLowLink 1 currently supports EasyMesh and Mesh11s. When you configure a HaLowLink 1 Access Point in a mesh mode, any paired Extender devices will automatically function as mesh nodes within the network i.e. they will act as ‘Mesh11s Extenders’ or ‘EasyMesh Extenders’.
And the 2.4 GHz APs on both the AP or Extenders will remain available in any of these configurations unless you decide to disable them.
