Question with flashing

I built the openWRT package and got the resulting image “openwrt-morse-2.7-dev-morse-micro-ekh01-squashfs-sysupgrade”

I tried to flash it using the web UI but get the following error:

Actually I just read the error message again and will try to flash the uncompressed file

Do not Force upgrade. If you read the error message, it’s entirely failed to read the metadata, which means the image is likely nonsense in some way. Can you mention the complete name of the image you built? It shouldn’t have no extension.

I’d also strongly encourage you when jumping multiple versions to not ‘Keep settings’.

Tried again with uncompressed image and I get the following:

extension is .img
image

So, you’re upgrading from a very old version:

  • do not keep settings
  • make sure you don’t have an ekh01v1, ekh01v2, or ekh01-03

It’s unlikely you want to flash this image, because if it has 2.2 on it there was no 2.2 image built for an “ekh01”.

Historically, the order of devices is:
ekh01v1
ekh01v2
ekh01-03
ekh01 (covers any other ekh01)

But confusingly, the ekh01v1 will likely just say ekh01 on the sticker.

If you’re not sure, post what’s on the sticker.

I have the ekh01-03-CAM.

What do you mean by the 2.2 image? If you’re referring to the .img file I posted just then it’s version 2.7

I mean whatever is running currently - I know some people have 2.2 devices.

If you have an ekh01-03 device, you need to build an ekh01-03 image. You currently have an ekh01 image.

Ah I understand. I did build the wrong image

Thanks

Okay I built the ekh01-03 image (“openwrt-morse-2.7-dev-morse-micro-ekh01-03-squashfs-sysupgrade.img.gz”) and tried to flash it and got the following:

Ok to force. But please uncheck the keep settings box.
