My router and computer won’t let me connect to 2.4ghz uplink once I change it on the wizard
This is through windows
It just doesn’t recognise my SSID or password and therefore won’t let me continue
Could someone forward a suggestion ?

Hi could someone please assist
When I change the setting on the wizard to have wifi uplink no Ethernet the windows / computer does not accept my password or SSID
Why is this ?
Thanks
Is this the problem?
Currently, due to how it’s trying to use the same chip for both 2.4 uplink and as a 2.4 AP, you cannot do the initial configuration of the 2.4 uplink while connected to the device. Instead, if you want to setup a 2.4 uplink, connect to your HaLowLink1 via USB-C or ethernet. Once it’s correctly setup, you will then be able to use its 2.4 WiFi again.
Sorry about this. It will be partially resolved in our next release (2.7), which should be out within the next month.
Hi James
Yes this is the issue, it just keeps saying unable to save changes
That’s great to know and I’ll tinker and hopefully come up with success
Thanks

Hello James
Thanks again for the help
An issue I was having also was identifying and trying to use the Ethernet cable however it would then not allow me to access 192.168.12.1 or 192.168.1.100
I tried to adapt the router however to no avail
Do you have any further suggestions ?

Hello again James,
I have tried all different combinations and I cannot get the uplink to work with the Ethernet cable
I must be doing something wrong when configuring it originally
It allows me now back into the home page however the Ethernet does not show an IP address nor when I try to uplink it will not connect
What do you suggest ?
Rich
Hi Rich,
Sorry you’re having a rough time with this. Do I understand correctly that:
I’m a bit confused, because you mention that the ‘Ethernet does not show an IP address’, but I’m not sure which ethernet this is.
Perhaps you can attach a screenshot of your homepage so we can check that you have a 2.4 Uplink and see its connection status?
Alternatively, if you just want to use ethernet for the uplink, you don’t need to do anything. Just reset the device (hold down mode button on the bottom until it’s flashing green) and connect the WAN ethernet port of your HaLowLink1 to an ethernet port on your router.
Hi James,
Thanks so much for getting back to me and I’m really sorry to bug you.
Yes what you have said is correct and what is happening.
The difference now is that this message no longer comes up as below (this was prior to connecting the cable)
however now when I press save and apply it does not actually do anything at all. Doesn’t connect and just stays stagnant (without this message)
I have turned the AP off and on many times as per instructions which resets it however each time I get to this point
Apologies for the confusion re IP address I was just trying to get anything to work and was following the bellow
This is my AP device
Sadly I have an old rubbish ACER with a USB C port and a Lenovo without a port
Apple would be better and I am working toward this
Do you have any advice ?
I’ll get there just some guidance would be great thanks
