Hello,
I have a raspberry pi hat that I am connecting to the halow-link system. It shows connected, but does not get an IP assigned to it via the router. Any ideas what I am doing wrong? I am expecting a 192.162.xx.xxx IP address and not getting one.
Thanks Cannot get IP address assigned to connected station
Can you give us some more details of your setup?
e.g. is it HaLowLink 1 AP/router (green mode) — ethernet —> rpi4 in dhcp client mode?
Do other devices such as your laptop get an IP (via 2.4 or ethernet)?
Thanks for the reply. I have the HalowLink 1 in green mode. I can connect my laptop via the wifi and get internet through it like normal. I have an ALFA networks halow hat on a rpi zero 2w. I can connect to the halow network with the rpi via station mode (it shows connected on the halowlink web display) and I receive an IPv6 address, but I never get the IPv4.
This makes me suspect that the problem is not with the HL1 but the configuration on the connected station.
- how are you configuring the network on the RPI2?
- what driver version and OS are you using on the RPI2?
- what is the DHCP client on the RPI2 reporting?
- does it work if you configure a static 192.168.12.x IP on the station?
- do you have other HaLow APs that it works with?
- is your HL1 updated to the 2.7 release (via the upgrade page)?
