MM6108 AP Mode Capacity & External FEM Support

Hello,

We are currently evaluating the MM6108 (Wi-Fi HaLow) as an Access Point (AP) for a large-scale IoT and industrial deployment, and I would like to inquire about several key counting parameters

  1. AP capacity: How many STAs can one MM6108 AP support?
  2. External FEM: Can MM6108 drive PA/LNA and RF switch?

Hey @kyn

For something like a HaLowLink1 we’re quite comfortable claiming out of box connectivity with up to 200 stations to a single AP. With some more advanced tweaking of your system, you can increase this much higher - but it takes a bit of coordination on the network side. We have a test setup with thousands of low-data stations connected to a single AP.

The MM6108 chip itself requires an external FEM. All MM6108 based modules will include this on the design.
