AP support for MM6108 on ESP32 SDK

Hey everyone,

I’m working on a project using Morse Micro’s MM6108 with an ESP32S3 and was wondering:

  1. Any ETA on AP mode support for the mm-iot-esp32 SDK? Right now, it looks like only STA mode is available. Would love to know if AP mode is in the pipeline and when we might expect it.

  2. Best commercial HaLow APs for outdoor use? Since I can’t run an ESP32 as an AP yet, I need a good outdoor Wi-Fi HaLow access point. Any recommendations for something reliable with solid range?

Thanks in advance!

We are working on adding AP support to our microcontroller offering. At this stage we are targeting the later half of this year.

There’s not many consumer available outdoor HaLow APs available yet! AsiaRF have some offering in that space.

I have a Heltec H7608 which also seems to use some Morse Micro stuff.
I have Xiao ESP32S3 Plus and Xiao WiFi HaLow transceiver which uses MM6108.
It connects to the AP no problem and I can ping it from my laptop ethernetted into the AP.

So I would highly recommend the Heltec H7608. I have not actually used it outdoors or tested the range but its easy to use, inexpensive, has good admin webpage, and works with your hardware.
LMK if you have questions!
