I recently read an article discussing the benefits of using RHCP + LHCP antenna pairs in a MIMO configuration to improve robustness in multipath environments. I also noticed that IEEE 802.11ah includes MIMO as part of the spec, which got me curious about real-world support.
Quick questions:
-
Do current MM6108 / MM8108 chipsets support any form of MIMO, SIMO, or receive diversity at the PHY/MAC level?
-
If not today, is HaLow on these platforms effectively single-stream only, or is antenna / polarization diversity something that could be leveraged now or in a future roadmap?
The use case is long-range, mobile / emergency deployments where link reliability matters most.
Thanks
