hi, I have the SEEED studio XIAO boards in hand with ESP32-S#, Unfortunatley the ESP32 support is restricted to station mode only for now which i ma anxiously waiting to have AP also
But for now i am to use raspberry pi Zero2w for the AP mode side and connnected the xiao to the pi using SPI.
Can any one helo me on how to use the zero2w pi as standalone AP no need to have internet just need the AP so i can DIY my own Video intercom for my villa house as the door doesnt have the WiFi signals and this would be great for a video intercom along with door open or close signals.
I have tried to manipulate the OpenWrt image given by SEEED studio but it keeps downloading dependencies and gets stuck in it.
if we are close on AP mode on esp32 then i can wait some time else can somebody provide a guide step by step on how to do the zero2w side from iamge upload to configuring as AP , i am good at controllers but not friendly with the pi family ,

If you don’t have an existing RPI Zero 2 image, then the easiest way to get an AP going is definitely going to be with OpenWrt. Can you tell us exactly what image you tried to build, what modifications you made, and where it gets stuck downloading dependencies?
