We have purchased the Halowlink 2 AU version. The device is fixed to AU. Can this be changed for countries which have the same frequencies? For example US and AU share about the same range. Can the halowlink 2 be swapped to US?
No, as a consumer product for regulatory reasons the HL2 is locked to one of AU/US/EU/JP. The US and AU do not share a range; the AU allowed frequency range (915-928) is only the top half of the allowed US frequency range (902-928).
Having said that, in this particular case it would be legal to operate an AU HL2 in the US since it is a subset and they are shipped with the same antenna (unlike the EU HL2).
