As you’ve shown, long range wireless video would be an immediate benefit to my campus network.
I mentioned to Arien that I may have a very strong use case for HaLow technology in building automation and sensor networks.
Location tracking, especially with bi-directional communication, could be used by my students: activity when they are outdoors, hiking through the woods or on other adventures. We’ve had an incident in the past couple of years where a student had gotten lost on a hike, and it took quite a while to locate them. Being able to phone home with a GPS location, as well as provide basic two-way voice would have made the rescue in this situation much faster and easier.
I’m positive I can come up with many other ideas for this technology, but this is what I have at the moment. Thanks for doing your presentation and for taking the time to talk with us all at WLPC!
