Beagle Bone Industrial Not Connecting to LAN port on HL1

Hi I have a rather large deployment of HL1 devices. The setup is one IOT device running BeagleBoneBlack/Industrial per HL1. The IOT device is connected via ethernet to the lan port on HL1. The HL1s are in a Wifi802.11 mesh. I’m finding that every once in a while the IOT device does not get an IP address. In dmesg I’m seeing:’

[10476.935841] cpsw 4a100000.ethernet: initializing cpsw version 1.12 (0)

[10476.952103] cpsw 4a100000.ethernet: phy “/ocp/interconnect@4a000000/segment@0/target-module@100000/ethernet@0/mdio@1000/ethernet-phy@0” not found on slave 0

[10528.660810] cpsw 4a100000.ethernet: initializing cpsw version 1.12 (0)

[10528.679287] cpsw 4a100000.ethernet: phy “/ocp/interconnect@4a000000/segment@0/target-module@100000/ethernet@0/mdio@1000/ethernet-phy@0” not found on slave 0

Any thoughts here. Most devices work fine.

This looks like the dmesg on the beaglebone, and seems like the beaglebone has managed to lose its ethernet device entirely. I wouldn’t have thought the HL1 could cause this.

Do you have the logs before this point? Why is cpsw (the switch?) reinitialising? Is it possible that you need to check the logs from other parts of the system?

It might also be worth plugging your IOT device into something other than an HL1 and see if it exhibits the same symptoms to help isolate the cause.

Thanks I will check that out.
