Hey! I am interested in buying this develoepment kit to start researching and developing with WIFI Halow. Can you please inform me how much memeory the Raspberry Pi used in the Kit has? It boots from SD card or NVMe ? And are the drivers for the Halow module prebuilt in the OS ?

1 GB of RAM

SD card or NVMe

SD card for storage, from memory standard RPIs don’t have EMMC memory variants, just the compute modules do,

are the drivers for the Halow module prebuilt in the OS

If you use one of our prebuilt system images they should have the drivers set up and configured.

I want to buy MM8108-EKH01-01 Evaluation Kit and use it in EU .
It can be used as AP and STA right?
Also another thing that is weird to me its that in the ste it says it desnt support WIFI 4/5/6 . But raspberri py 4 that it is inside support it. It is disable for the HaLow band to operate?

Hey sorry to write again but i am really confused in choosing between MM8108 and MM6108 . Our final goal is to use them in a star architecture not mesh (maybe easymesh but on later stage) with multiple STA and one AP. Excecpt from the support, which is in favor of the newwset product i guess, are there other restrictions to lead us to use MM8108 and not MM6108 ? What would be your suggestion ? thank you !

@nikmmm if you’re operating in the EU you’ll need to opt for the 8108. The MM6108-EKH01 is US (and some subsets like AU) only.

Yes the EKH01 can be used as AP and a station.

In the EKH01, the Morse Micro chips are attached via SDIO. This SDIO bus is the same that is used for the on-board raspberry pi Wi-Fi, and so yes it is disabled for HaLow to operate.

What about the bluetooth of the raspberry pi ? Can still operate with no problem?

I don’t think our OpenWrt software images come with the drivers and software packages required to use Bluetooth, but the Bluetooth hardware on the Pi should be accessible via one of the UARTs on the pi
