Hello Morse Micro Community,
We are working with two HaLowLink 2 APs, each using the Morse Micro MM8108-B2 802.11ah (S1G) radio.
Our objective is to perform client roaming between these two HaLow APs. Both APs are configured with the same SSID, and the APs are connected through an 802.11s mesh backhaul.
I would like to confirm whether 802.11k/v/r enabled roaming is supported on the following HaLowLink 2 configuration:
- Device: Morse Micro HaLowLink 2
- Firmware: 2.11.13
- OpenWrt: 23.05.6
- Linux Kernel: 5.15.189
- Wireless: S1G / IEEE 802.11ah
- AP Configuration: Two HaLowLink 2 APs with the same SSID
- Backhaul: 802.11s mesh
- Security: WPA3-SAE
Could you please clarify:
- Is KVR-enabled roaming fully supported on this hardware/firmware?
- If supported, are there any prerequisites or additional components/configurations required?
- Is automatic neighbor synchronization between the APs supported, or does the 802.11k neighbor database need to be configured separately?
- Does 802.11v BSS Transition support providing a preferred candidate list / candidate preference for roaming?
Any guidance on the recommended configuration for achieving KVR-based soft roaming would be appreciated.
