Just Starting Up 2 Nodes

I have received my 2 eval units and an trying to connect them. No luck so far..

I was using the Wizard set up, and only have I have set the same mesh phrase on both. Everything else is done by the wizard.

I would like to have a 802 mesh with a NAT subnet behind each radio.

I have configured then both as “Mesh point”, 8 MHz, extender, no AP

I am unsure if I have to set two different IP addresses on each respective device - they are still both 10.42.0.1

My PC is 10.42.0.2 and swapping between the two devices to configure each.

What is a good starting configuration that will connect the two devices out of the box using the wizard? I need to validate that they work.

Is there a paper articulating the choices as it pertains to network design, needed DHCP services, and NAT?

I do not want to use DHCP on my inside sup networks. One node will eventually reach out to the WAN.

Please advise.

Most of this is documented in https://www.morsemicro.com/resources/user_guides/MM6108_MM8108-Eval-Kit-User-Guide-2.9.pdf

Use the wizards where possible, as they greatly simplify the initial configuration. Sounds like you want “Mesh Point” with “Extender” for the Traffic Mode?

You will want different IP addresses on the mesh nodes.
